“Regla: Soul of a Community” is curated by Souldega member Ashleigh Alexandria, an exhibition scheduled to take place at The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Educational Center between April 9th – May 7th, 2021. This is Alexandria’s first art exhibition produced under Souldega.

The conversation is with the exhibition curator, Paul Smith, a longtime LES and Clemente resident artist. The podcast discusses the exhibition and participating artists' works which examine themes of war, riots, and protests through various poetic lenses of photography, drawing, and painting.

They discussed maternal figures related to diasporas, mother tongues or lack thereof, generational trauma, and the need for healing.
