Who is eligible to apply?

• Currently, only organizations, or artists in partnership with an organization, cultural institutions, government agencies are invited to apply

• The Clemente recommends a minimum 2-month to one-year stay as most beneficial. Long-term sponsors may send artists for shorter periods after discussing the options with The Clemente’s Studio Program Director.

• Studio cost varies according to the studio chosen by the sponsor. Costs for studios range from approximately $1,200 to $3,000 per month.

• The Clemente does not provide funding for transportation, housing, art materials, or living expenses. If necessary, we recommend that sponsors consult with their consulates or UN staff to ascertain appropriate support or gain help with living accommodations.

• The artist or sponsor is responsible for obtaining the appropriate visa. The Clemente will provide a letter confirming the purpose of the artist’s stay in the United States upon request.
