BORIMIX AFTERNOON TERTULIA SAN JUAN: A CITY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE WALL

Join us on Tuesday, November 23rd , 2021 at 6 PM EST, for another BORIMIX Afternoon Tertulia - San Juan: A City on Both Sides of the Wall. Arleen Pabón Charneco, José Marull del Río, Silvia Álvarez Curbelo and Lillian Lara Fonseca will present the Puerto Rico State Historic Preservation Office dissemination efforts in the context of the 500 years of the founding of San Juan. They will discuss the nominations of Old San Juan and Puerta de Tierra to the National Register of Historic Places and of one of this sectors listed as National Historic Landmark. The specialists will also highlight PRSHPO recent publications, which include two books and a commemorative volume of journal Patrimonio. Undoubtedly, the presentation will address approaches of the historic islet -which is defined by both, the tourist-oriented Old San Juan and its surrounding working class community of Puerta de Tierra.
