Join us September 8th from 5-8PM for the closing reception of "Don't Pretend You Can't Here" with a special tour from 6-7PM led by the curator Phalguni Guliani (@but.not.really). She'll take us through the many ways in which bodies of women are policed and boundaries of selfhood negotiated in an increasingly polarised post-Roe v. Wade world.
In addition to this evening, the curator will be providing week-round walkthroughs from 3-5PM through Saturday, September 10th.
The latest iteration — "Don't Pretend You Can't Hear" — of Guliani's exhibition series touring the US brings together Arshi Ahmadzai's (@arshi_ahmadzai) towering paintings of faceless women, together with video works by Ashfika Rahman (ashfikarahman47) at once intensely personal and deeply universal, and Fiza Khatri's (@fklmnop) tender self-portraits navigating the crossroads of both gender and materiality.
