Paper & Color - Techniques to transform paper into art
October 16 2:00pm
Collage is largely used as a technique not only for crafts but also as in Contemporary Art. It seems that it has always existed in the Arts, but it was only in 1912 that Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque began to stick newspaper cuttings and other materials onto their canvases. Because of that, collage is often thought of as an archetypally Modern artistic technique. Nowadays, collage is broadly used as much as painting and sculpture. Also, it can appear mixed with these two or many other ways of doing art.
Dea Segatto is an artist known for her collages that blend with many other techniques, creating true assemblages. She and the art curator Caru Albuquerque prepared this workshop to show some of these possibilities, as:
- light table;
- gouache and watercolor effects on collage;
- the use of water for coloring;
- texture with words; among others
>> Participants will develop their work and can take it home
>> The workshop is free
>> It is not necessary to bring material
>> Public: 16yo +
