Incise, Echo and Repeat, curated by painters Camilla Fallon and Kylie Heidenheimer, was a show about the idea of fracturing in current painting. Some of the exhibition’s works referenced still life, nature and urban spaces while others fractured the space through gesture and activated it through geometric or linear division. Fracturing and fragmenting can exist in different forms and purposes; it can be arbitrary, as in an earthquake, or ordered, as a crystal might break, with the same or similar patterning.
