Trill Matrix, organized by Elizabeth Riley, was a multi-media, collaborative group show of women who have traveled along overlapping paths in New York City’s art communities and in their art-making practices. In the title, “trill” referred to the adjective used in hip-hop culture to describe someone who is considered to be well respected, coming from a combination of the words “true” and “real.” Matrix is defined as a situation or surrounding substance within which something else originates, develops, or is contained.
