Powerhouse Panel From Our Friends at the Museum of the City of NY
Hello everyone,
Museum of the City of NY invites you to an upcoming public program, Puerto Rican Activism from New York to San Juan – and Beyond, on Tuesday, February 25 at 6:30 pm at the MCNY. This program accompanies Activist New York, the ongoing exhibition on histories of New York City activism I curate at the Museum, specifically the section on the Young Lords. Next week’s conversation about diasporas and activist mobilizations in New York and Puerto Rico past and present features Johanna Fernández, whose new book, Young Lords: A Radical History, was just published; activist, organizer, and researcher Pablo Benson-Silva; filmmaker, writer, and scholar Frances Negrón-Muntaner; and former Young Lord Mickey Melendez. My colleague Monxo López, the Museum’s Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Post-Doctoral Curatorial Fellow, will be moderating what should be an exciting and thought-provoking discussion.
Hope you can make it!
Best,
The Clemente
