Samantha Sacks is a classical ballet dancer and Oral History Master's student at Columbia University. Her research uses oral history to explore the fields of dance and migration studies, collecting stories from dancers belonging to the Caribbean diaspora. She is at work on a thesis about Cuban ballet pedagogy and the embodied knowledge of technique.
Samantha trained at the Escuela Nacional de Ballet in Havana and later danced with Ballet Concierto in Puerto Rico. She comes to The Clemente from previous positions at El Kilometro gallery and El Museo De Arte y Diseño de Miramar in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
